Schwalbe - Durano Skid. Prodigal Gene has just fitted one of these lovely German skins and is all smiles. Schwalbe has developed this rear tyre specifically for the fixed riders of the mean streets of London (...and other cities). Being made with a thicker riding surface and wall, they are more durable and better equipped for locking those legs for a quick stop. These Skids are not all function: they also have a stunning font which looks as good on a retro bike as it does a new one. Coming in at 25mm wide they squeeze nicely into 23mm clinchers. Don't forget though, you may be better off with a slightly larger inner tube. With only a few miles on these tyres we can't be 100% just yet, but keep checking back for an update on how they're doing.
