Schwalbe - Durano Skid

Schwalbe - Durano Skid. Prodigal Gene has just fitted one of these lovely German skins and is all smiles. Schwalbe has developed this rear tyre specifically for the fixed riders of the mean streets of London (...and other cities). Being made with a thicker riding surface and wall, they are more durable and better equipped for locking those legs for a quick stop. These Skids are not all function: they also have a stunning font which looks as good on a retro bike as it does a new one. Coming in at 25mm wide they squeeze nicely into 23mm clinchers. Don't forget though, you may be better off with a slightly larger inner tube. With only a few miles on these tyres we can't be 100% just yet, but keep checking back for an update on how they're doing.

Paul - Racer Brake & E-Lever

Paul - E-Lever. Paul are the well known quality bicycle component manufacturer based in Chico, California USA. Paul products are notable for the simplicity of their design teamed with outstanding build quality; and here at Prodigal Gene, we're big fans. This single finger E-Lever is a real favourite and will keep the clean lines of your narrow riser handlebars looking just that. The stainless silver finish is classic and matches perfectly with Paul Racer Brakes.

Paul - Racer Brake. This Racer Brake from Paul is a real triumph in design. It's form and exquisite finishings make it a thing of beauty. The stock Paul red brake shoes provide a throwback to traditional sports car callipers. It should also be noted that these brakes are not all for show as they also feature a deep drop length. Perfect for builds using vintage frames or the occasional odd-shaped wheel.

Bianchi - Pista Sei Giorni

Bianchi - Pista Sei Giorni. This 2011 Bianchi single-speed is one of Prodigal Gene's current favourites. It screams quality and heritage, whilst also luring you in with it's pristine appearance. Don't get us wrong, here at Prodigal Gene were all about DIY cycles, but this morsel from Bianchi had us all warm and fuzzy inside.
